I can't tell if I'm just picky or something is wrong with the way my extended family treats me. I just turned 20 and as of this past Thanksgiving I was again acknowledged as on of the "kids" (my almost 21 and about 26 year old cousins are treated as adults) and had to do stuff with "the kids" (age range in my family is about 10-20 :?). Part of the reason is probably because I don't drive but also as an example I just received birthday gifts and my one relative gave me tissue paper and Slinkys (they are known things I like but I've never been into the whole gift thing)... I can't really use those practically while I'm living at college. I'm just wondering if these are signs that they think of me as MUCH younger than I am :? ? I'd honestly rather they didn't acknowledge me at all instead...

Is it any comfort to think that if they didn't misperceive your age they would probably miss by just as much in some other direction? Nobody in my family has, I believe, the leat idea who I am or even who I used to be.

Same here, and I agree. However, and while hoping to yet remain somewhat humble here: I find it best to just keep trying to accept them in their well-documented ignorance and/or misunderstanding.
