One puzzle piece missing

I don't have a diagnosis for an ASD, but I have most autistic traits. Except for this one set of traits, which really bugs me.
I can't find any sign of the rigidity/repetition/special interest sign of Asperger's, but most of the other symptoms are there.
Can someone have an autism spectrum disorder without those characteristics???

Somewhat tongue-in-cheek:

How rigid are you about those signs needing to be here?!
How repetitive are you about asking these kinds of questions?!
How much time and effort do you spend looking for these kinds of answers?!

If any two people were identical, one of them would have no unique identity.

very good question.
do you really need to know?
what if the answer is: no you really need to have at LEAST one symptom... blah blah.
research on ASD is still in a relatively primitive state, we don't know a lot about these autism related disorders except for their symptoms, then again, maybe we don't know much about their symptoms...

Actually we know a lot about how the brain is affected by autism. What else is there to know?

Rigid and repetitive behavior and special interests are all important symptoms. I mean you could have any other disorder that is similar to ASD.
What are the other symptoms you have?

trouble reading body language
socially awkward
relate better to people much older or much younger than me
highly gifted
easily bored
alexithymia (I spent six months on a dairy-free diet in an attempt to cure stomachaches, which turned out to be anxiety attacks)
tourettes-like tics
literal thinking
aspie-like "megaphone voice"
huge vocabulary
odd sense of humor
hypersensitive to light, sound, touch, pain, heat
poor sense of smell, balance, proprioception, time, and direction
trouble with auditory processing
physically clumsy
trouble falling asleep until late at night, and then sleeping in really late
feeling unsafe in safe situations (i.e., going to a new coffe place)
feeling safe in unsafe situations (i.e., driving down an icy road at night during a blizzard)
executive skill deficits
other LD-like symptoms such as left-right confusion

Perhaps this isn't your thing and you haven't found your group yet, or perhaps you'd be considered PDD- NOS?
