I'm reading that detox can be helpful, and that AS symptoms have been blamed on unusual gut flora, which may diminish on a diet of unprocessed foods.

I get pancreatitis and thyroid pain from eating high calorie foods in bulk. Reactive hypoglycemia without weight gain.

I have had unpleasant reactions from amylase (in OTC digestive enzyme tablets), from caffeine, and from several decongestants. Amylase is contraindicated in case of pancreatitis, and Benadryl is contraindicated for thyroid sufferers.

Wasp venom seemed to cause mild shock, discoloration, but not big swelling. Benadryl works against wasp venom via competitive inhibition.

And, an anesthesiologist reported anomalous readings, which I was awake to hear.

In general I think this is a myth that was perpetuated by idiot parents. I don't think people with ASD share food allergies at ALL.

Yeah.

We're all allergic to people.

Some of these symptoms are primarily neurological. All of them affect my thinking. But, I can't say for certain which are related to autism, if any.

I think some parents will believe anything that makes it not their fault. My mom whose favorite word I swear used to be "cop-out" (if that's a word) is happy to accept the idea that I have AS (which I am not diagnosed with and may not in fact have) on my sister's suggestion. The woman hardly spent any time with me one-on-one as a child until I started having trouble in school, told me not to bother people every time I wanted to do something nice for someone, was always disappointed with anything I gave her as a present, and spent most of her time yelling at my older siblings, but I have AS, that's why I have no tact. I'm sure I'd have allergies too, even though I don't, if she thought that was the cause.

I am allergic to people. Also to sweeping generalizations.

I think it's natural to want to find a medical cause for whatever issue is at hand ~ by ruling them out you can move on to whatever's next ~

AS is a medical cause. No need to look further.

I was strange but undiagnosed as a child, called dysfunctional as an adult, but not necessarily so. Noone is on a mission to "fix" me.

Some of my problems may have been caused by Bendectin, a recalled drug, taken while I was still developing inside of my mother.

As an adult, I happen to have a sensitivity to the same class of medications.

I've done all the diets, exercise and meditation and I'm still autistic. Actually worse off than I was before. Yes, I meant to write meditation. Twas a joke.

My mum didn't take any drugs while I was in the womb. Not even the RH vaccine which could have saved my life. Oh wait, I'm still living. Still, I could have been living much healthier. And I don't mean without autism. I mean without fatigue.

I think I am alergic to rabbit fur. When I held and groomed my pet rabbits and snuggled them, my eyes would get all red and itchy and I found it hard to breathe. I get this sensation when grooming my cat but not as bad as the rabbits. These were short haired lop rabbits.
