Is it dangerous to eat tree leaves? I've ate leaves off trees outside before.
It doesn't sound like a plastic tree from your post so it's not reusable, it shouldn't matter much.
Still...I'd rather he not eat it.
You don't know what could have been picked up from it or if the tree is any healthy to even consume its leaves.
I know you'd rather not but if he is not consuming large quantities of it I'd let it be. It sounds like he is having fun being a cat. It's probably his way of dealing with the stress of the holidays. Christmas trees aren't up forever. I think when it comes to autistic children you just have to pick your battles as many say.
I don't think such foliage is digestible by humans now that I think about it, but again the worst that might happen would be he throws up if he eats too much I would think.
