In my experience, all I saw people wear in saunas are a swimsuit or a towel. Gym clothes are simply impractical, because they're dirty from coming in contact with weight machines, and when you sweat in the sauna, they get even dirtier. After all, the point of a sauna is to relax your muscles and sweat out the toxins. You want to be able to jump under a cool shower right afterwards, as opposed to letting the sweat dry on your skin and collect in your clothes. That's why wearing gym clothes in a sauna might seem weird. Still, the guy was a jerk for using the word "stupidity". I would have said: "I don't think that's a good idea".
In all honesty, I'm kind of a built guy. This guy was a skinny guy and he was with his son. I think he was trying to look tough in front of his son.
I decided to not humiliate him in front of his son. I know that would be hard on ANY dad
