I tend to walk in circles in my kitchen when I can't sleep. Anyone else?

That sounds like the worst way to help you get to sleep haha. I listen to music when I go to bed so if I can't fall asleep i'm still having a good time.

I walk in circles if I have to wait for something. I seem to need to constantly in motion and doing something. :D

i don't, but recently there was a series on bbc 3 called "freak like me", exposing the quirky habits of people and in episode 2 a girl (late teens/early twens) had the habit of running in circles for hours, she even put her trainers on for it, the funny thing was how chilled out her parents were about it. however, i don't know whether she does it at night.

HERE is the link to the series.

episode 2 is unavailable to watch but episode 3 is still there for 3 days on bbc iplayer.

I'll pace in circles from time to time. I pace a lot, but not always in circles.

Sometimes I go to post something, and someone else has already said it.

I do that a lot. In fact, I often do it around my kitchen table, coincidentally, though that's more walking in a rectangle than in a circle.

I never do it when I can't sleep, though. I just listen to music in bed when that happens.

That would make me bonkers. I need total silence to fall asleep. If I can hear music from anywhere in the house I can't fall asleep.

I get really annoyed when it's other peoples' music, and I get even worse when I hear people singing in my house, but listening to my own music helps me a lot.

I have tried walking in several symmetric and periodic patters. I prefer rectangle to circles because I can line up the sides with the walls.

That's interesting. I might have to try that. I can't stand ear buds though. My wife might object.

Ear buds are crap, I always use proper headphones.

I pace a lot, lot lot. Since I was a kid. Usually around something, so typically in some polygonal form. My level of stress dictates my speed. I have probably paced 10,000 miles in the various places I have lived cumulatively.

I pace ALL the time. Circles, lines, whatever.... Pacing feels good and so do circles...

I used to sleep to music. It's nice when you get used to it, but I haven't done it in a really long time, so now I just lay there listening to it until it's over.

But I've had periods before where I stopped doing it and then decided to get back into it, and after a while it's no problem at all.
