Is that something that aspies do but NT's don't? I want to know if it's weird if I do it.

Don't think it is an Aspie thing, just an individual preference.

I enjoy adjusting my body language to be the opposite of what is the norm. I cannot answer your question.

Fascinating! Could you tell me what is considered the norm?

I find that people nod in the affirmitive and shake their head side to side in the negative when they are being emphatic, usually it is more subtle. There are people that say to detect lies that people will do the opposite very subtly to a point of almost imperceptibility, but that may be pseudo science gibberish.

I am only aware of nodding or shaking when I choose not to verbalize, but I can't say what I do unconsciously. I notice that many people nod when telling a story or giving information as if to say, "Yes, it's really true."

I hate when people nod instead of saying yes or no.

How do you feel when they shrug and do a backflip?

What are some other body languages that are the norm?

People open up and get bigger when aggressive, they spread their arms out and try to puff up. Conversely when someone is being defensive they try to protect themselves by folding their arms and making themselves smaller. Therefore it is fun when talking about a boring topic like smalltalk or the weather to open your stance and get closer to people. It is a dichotomy of bored aggression.

Don't forget nodding / shaking while asking the question.

Its called cognitive dissonance and it isn't psuedo science.

Maybe you should do some research before you knock it down.

I'm actually looking for more examples as I want to change my behavior to NT behavior.

They also get really confused when, do to my autistic capacity for misreading body language, I react by giving them a big fat bear hug instead of cowering in fear.

I don't nod or shake my head, I sign at the same time as speaking! That IS pretty weird...
