questions about the autistic "disorder"
I was wondering if someone considered autistic does actions that are strange because they are born with it, (or as a friend likes to say, it is wired in), or is it a bad habit that we get into because of stress? I guess it could be either or, and I do not know how a person would really know if something was wired in or not. The only person who would best know would be that person himself/herself, but even our own self may not be the best judge for oneself.
And then, even if we are conscious we are about to do something before we do it, some of us may stress so much about it that it may actually turn out better to just do it. It would be better if we would just not worry about it if we are conscious about what we're about to do before we do it. Is stressing unnecessarily about something something we can control? I guess it depends on the person.
I feel like because we tend to think about things in a different way than many people, the majority of us tend to be very caring people, maybe we know how to care better than most other people. Many of us also seem to know how to be accidentally inconsiderate with our lack of responses or inconsiderateness for asking a question and then not answering back. I guess maybe one could say that it depends on the person whether it's the autism in effect or just a person making a mistake? Since it is even arguable that "autism" is a difference rather than a "problem", then do we try to use 'autism' as a crutch because we feel or we have the label?
Because they are born with autism, or because they are born such that the do whatever strange action one is talking about?
As far as autism itself, there's strong evidence that genetics is a significant factor. It doesn't mean other things don't interrelate as well. Even stress. But it's not caused by stress. (I'm assuming you mean mental stress. There is the ideas that physical stresses when one is very young contribute to or cause autism, but I think that's not what you mean.)
Specific behaviors might sometimes be the result of stress. But, those who are clearly non-autistic have stress too. For autistic behaviors that are stress related, there's something that causes the person to react to stress in an autistic way, I think.

As for controlling stress, it's very difficult for us. We can't regulate our emotions as well as non-autistic people.
All my fears about doing new things are very difficult to control. If I just go and do something without thinking I will most likely have a lot of distress, even a meltdown.

I know someone who was definitely born doing strange actions. When he was born, he pretty rapidly started rocking and stuff, and his mother's response was "Oh so THAT'S what you were doing inside of me..."
