I believe I might have a form of synaesthesia.

I can associate coherent meaning from a focus on individual letters of the alphabet and words. It's really hard to describe. I will try to give an example:

LOVE

L is like a lick or a soft wet kiss.

O is receptive like a vagina.

V is energetic and assertive.

E is willing to concede or comprise and reconcile any argument.

Anyway, I think this is a form of synasthesia. I looked up synaesthesia on the web and found this link for anyone who might be interested:

I'm not sure. Syneasthesia is the experiencing of a sensation relating to a sense that is different to the sense being used to identify the stimulant. If that's not too garbled? For example, somebody wearing a green wolly jumper and tasting metal because of it.

I think all this described sensation of Syneasthesia is rather very common. It is a perfect example of how powerful our minds are in the way we form perceptions of the world. I think even Pavlov's experiments with dogs are a good example of syneasthesia if animals associate certain sensory inputs with certain feelings (ok it is down to instinct being food as well) but I do thing it is something fundamental to the way the mammal brain functions.

Synthesia is a short-circuit between the senses. When I hear certain sounds I see a bright flash of light or patches of colour. When I see certain colours I experience a taste in my mouth. I don't even want to talk about textures....

I get textures too. Musical sounds have soft, sharp, smooth, etc. And it's weird too because I won't feel the texture on my body, but the texture will register in my brain. It's so weird. Also, the sun when it's really bright is sharp, almost cutting but if you're in the water at the same time, the sharpness is dulled and becomes smooth. If it's cloudy, it's soft kind of like cotton. Rain is like wool or sometimes like taffeta. We don't really have snow ever here so I don't have one for that other than a muted sound...no texture.

I guess I have these:
Light - Texture and some sound
Sound - Texture, color/shapes, and taste on occasion.
Taste - Color/shapes
Letters - some color
