anyone here really hate the feel of it?

Wet, sticky cold mess getting all over your clothes? The thought of how you will stink if all your de-odourant rubs off?

I can't stand it. I can't stand it to the point that I walk around in a bra, even in the middle of winter until my deodourant is dry. Even then it isn't properley dry and I just about to go into a fit of anxiety because of the horrible feeling.

i use a salt stone which is not sticky once dry, it seems to work ok and is not too cold. Actually I don't think it feels much different from water.

Just use baking soda. It's much cheaper and nowhere near as uncomfortable to apply as deodorant. You can just cup it in your hand and rub it under your armpits, or you can get a brush and apply it that way.

There's nothing wrong with my deodorant. It smells nice and gets the job done. If anything, sometimes it can feel too dry, so I always look out for moisterising stuff in the stores now. Also look for ones that don't leave white marks on your clothes, that can be really helpful.

Right there with you when it comes to the roll-ons. That's why I don't use them.

I do use a pump pack (not an aerosol and not a roll on) deoderant. I only do two pumps (somewhat less than the instructions say), and it never stays wet longer than it takes to pull on a tshirt.

It is not to be used on freshly shaved pits though - those days - I go without.

I used an aerosol for the life of one can, and everyone kept asking me about my new perfume - mostly they liked it, but I didn't like them noticing. That never seemed particularily wet either.

And you can get baking soda without aluminum if you're afraid of the link between aluminum and Alzhiemers.

Baking soda is sodium bicarbonate (NaHCO3). There's no aluminium in baking soda, to my knowledge.

Sweat does not actually stink. However, bacteria on your skin eat/metabolize the sweat, and produce substances which do stink.

So what I do instead of deodorant or anti-perspirants is to use a body wash, to wash away all the smell-producing bacteria. In the shower I give my underarms a good scrubbing with the body wash, and rinse well. I also use it around my neck, shoulders etc etc as well.

The body wash I have currently contains bergamot essential oil. Smells really nice. I like the smell of bergamot. Smells similar to citrus.

You might be skeptical about whether this works. I too was concerned about it, but I have asked girlfriends to tell me if it is not working, and apparently it does work, at least for me.

Kinda offtopic, but the Lynx/Axe effect? It doesn't work.

What, washing yourself is supposed to prevent B.O?

Errrrrrrrrrr wrong.

My suggestion, don't use it. Lynx totally stinks of flyspray and 15 year old boys. EW.

You can do what I do and not use deodorant, and just carry around some wet wipes for whenever you get sweaty. Just nick some from your nearest take-away restaurant. An alcohol-based wipe is more effective.

Not just washing yourself, but using a good body wash product, and using it to give your armpits and other places a thorough clean. You wash away or kill the bacteria that produce the smell.

You can say I am wrong, but I have ASKED a few females to tell me whether it is working, and it does work for me. How many females do I need to ask about my smell before you will acknowledge that it works? :P

Admittedly, I am naturally not very smelly. But to further support my claim, here is a quote from Encyclopedia Britannica 2004:

Quote:
"The odour of axillary secretion becomes more intense as it is decomposed by bacteria."
