I'm wondering, is it possible to get addicted to normal sensations like hot water running down the body or possibly the feeling of drinking?

I'm addicted to massages and certain songs that I keep playing over and over and over. I'm not sure if that counts.

Define addicted in this sense. There are certain sensations like this I enjoy but I personally wouldn't classify it as an addiction.

I'm addicted to the sensation of water pushing against my body, whenever I go swimming. It's a good feeling. :)

I'm addicted to the sensation of my cat's fur against my face. Her fur is very soft and has a certain pleasant scent to it. I bury my face in her fur at all opportunities.

Not like having withdrawal from a lack of it addiction. Like an intense enjoyment or love towards a sensation.

In that case, water so hot I can barely stand it on the back of my neck.

when showering...

I love the sensation of the pressure water drops falling on my forehead. While I can't stand people touching me on my forehead. If my wife touches me there, I instantly rub very strongly my hands like crazy on my forehead as to get away with the feeling it caused me.

Hot showers are like crack to me.

I used to be able to take hour-long hot showers 1-2 times a day, and I did it because it was exquisite. Sadly, the shower where I live now is inconsequential and pointless in comparison, so I take baths instead.

I wish I had a water heater with that kind of capacity. I could take longer hot showers in the Army lol

I actually love that numbness feeling! Specially because some days I have strong migraines, so I just rest my forehead under the shower until it goes numb, it's perfect.

It's interesting to see how many aspies enjoy the feeling of hot water. I love it too, feeling hot or warm water on my skin. :D I love the touch of the water running on my skin, especially on my back. I also like feeling the pressure of water on my body during baths or swims. I've always had a fascination with water, with the way it looks, moves, runs, leaks, feels etc. When I was a kid, whenever I had to stay at some relative's house for a few days while my parents were away, my mother would tell them that if I was upset or bored or something they could just put me in a bath and I'd be happy in there for hours.

I also enjoy certain kinds of touch on my back or head, kind of like being petted like an animal.

I like repeating the same songs over and over and sometimes I even repeat just some specific part of a song. I do this to movies and TV shows too, watch a short part of some scenes repeatedly.

I like certain smells a lot. If I use a perfume or a soap that smells really good to me or if I pet a dog, I keep sniffing my hands/skin/clothes to smell it.

I love touching things that are really soft, like certain fabrics or animals.

I like colorful lights like Christmas lights, so I keep them up like half of the year. I enjoy the mild, colorful light from them.

My mom always asks me why my skin is so red after I take a shower, I do not turn the cold water on, I look like a cooked lobster after haha.

I LOVE burning hot showers! :D
