I know this test isn't going to be the end-all of mathematical ability (or even if it has any relationship) but I was wondering how you guys do on this test:

Your gut feelings about dots on a screen may reveal your math abilities. In this experiment, we will ask you to play a game to find out how precise your "gut number sense" is. How good you are at this game may relate to your mathematical ability. Are you better than your co-workers? Open to all ages, this experiment takes 15 minutes to complete.

Approximate Number Sense

You had a score of 97% correct on this test. Based on the results we have so far, the average person who takes this test scores 90% correct.

Your percentile score on this test was 82, meaning you scored higher than 82% of people who took this test

It took you an average of 0.5 seconds to respond to each item. The average person who takes this test takes an average of 1 seconds to respond to each item. This means you respond to each item a little faster than the average person who takes this test.

I got 89% correct. That's better than 48% of people. It took 0.5 seconds on average to respond.

I'm surprised how well people in general have done on this test.

93%, 65th percentile. Quite unremarkable. Interesting phenomenon, though.

Sounds about right to me. Math is not my strong suit, but I've succeeded in it more than the "average person." And my response time has always been faster than normal. I got very high marks on processing speed when I took the WAIS; it was my highest score.

They have the usual disclaimer cautioning that the results apply to the group, and don't prove/predict anything about an individual, but it's hard to not consider implications.

If this actually correlates to mathematical ability, I should be "average" at math. I guess that fits, kind of - but not really. I got "c's" in my math classes, but I had to fight like hell to get them. An equal amount of effort in most other subjects would have easily earned an "A," while a "C" could be gotten by barely cracking the book, and not bothering with homework at all.

I know I suck at math When I was in school my math grades were low but the only math thing I know are the ones involved with Computers and Networking.

Pretty average. My maths has always been just below 'all right'. In primary school I was still above most people and I was in the top 30% in secondary, but that doesn't say anything about me, just the awful education system. I don't have a maths brain at all and Science in upper school really got me down (I did have it 6/7 times a week...).
I did get quite a few wrong because I hit the wrong key by mistake. Yeah, the Y and B are pretty far away from each other, but somehow I managed it ;)
