My psychologist suggested anti-deps, to keep my stress levels down because I have too much adrenaline pumping through my system all the time. I don't get why it'd be any good though... I mean, I've not had a panic attack in a long time, I'm stressed a lot of the time but just taking the edge off that isn't going to improve how I function is it? It's not going to make me better at the things I struggle with and it's not going to make me less tired from doing those things, I'd imagine, as I still have to make an autistic brain do non-autistic-friendly things...

Thanks for the links!

That article kinda says it for me... My stress problems aren't from my brain alone, so changing the way my brain works is, at best, simply shifting the problem elsewhere, probably giving me side-effects to deal with as well.

As I understand it, a lot of it is feel and texture. Biochem is complicated and subtle, and everyone's biochem is a little different. So, in a very respectful sense it is trial and error, and seeing how it works out.

I'm not entirely in favor of medication, nor am I entirely against it.

Now, it sounds like possibly your psychologist made a 'clunk' recommendation. Made a one-dimensional recommendation and then is unable to intelligently discuss it back and forth? Although he or she might be good in other ways. Or, maybe I'm reading too much into it.
