I have suspected misophonia (but diagnosed sensory problems), and one of the noises that sends me into rage more than any other is the noise of sniffling.
Well, my friend (exchange student) is doing so right now, and I can't tell her to stop.
I'm about to explode.

What do you suggest I do to possibly block out the noise/distract myself/etc.?

Hehe.. I sniffle a lot when I am around someone else and can think of nothing to say. People often ask me if I am sick, and I imagine some may be suspecting I am sniffing powders ;) Possibly this is more annoying than I'd thought.

Maybe start sniffling yourself to see if you can get your friend to realize that s/he is annoying you!

Can you hum? And she probably would appreciate a tissue. I would.

I'm the same, it drives me mad. Put some headphones on or hum loudly.
