How long does it usually take for someone to reply to a newbies introduction? Do regulars usually ignore them or did I break a netiquette rule by saying too much? Think I've already messed up from the start. Sorry.

Hi, and welcome.

To a certain extent, responses are a matter of luck. It depends on who is on and how many other new messages are posted at the same time. If there are a lot of other new messages, your message might get lost.

Long messages are not a breech of protocol, but I think that short messages with specific questions probably get a better response.

8O Well why not? And maybe a little anxious for that first response?

Welcome, Nikkle.

It's up to them, and you've done nothing of the sort. Just because people don't reply doesn't mean they don't like you or that you've done something wrong. ;)
