Hi I haven't been on the forums for a while now I have come to the conclusion that I probably don't have Autism I was diagnosed with Dyslexia and Dyspraxia so I am not exactly (and I hate the term) "NT" either. I guess I have always had mild special needs so I am completely "normal" either. Anyway while on these forums It got me thinking about this friend I once had as kid who I thought was a bit different as well but I didn't really know back then he may of been Autistic. I think he might of been.

I don't remember how I met him clearly but I think he got picked on in school and I'm sure he had some learning difficulties. He was a bit of a loner I think as well he didn't really have any friends which was similar to me. I think that's why me and him got on well.

Some things I remember about him which makes me wonder whether he had Aspegers Syndrome:

One time I went with him and his mum to drop off his ststers for a party and my friend hated the noise of the music covering his ears.

Sometimes he got really irrated or upset about over the littliest things he often got annoyed with his sister.

He spoke in a peculiar way, a bit like a professor

Sometimes I'd catch him getting excited for no reason and putting his hands down his pants, feeling himself.

He would often play with a particular part of a toy like a propeller on a helicopter or a wheel of a car however he did play with them "normally" as well.

One time I bought him a present a sticky octopus and he hated it he was quite forward he didn't like it I must admit it upset me and went home upset.

When I slept over his house sometimes he insisted on having a small light on beside his bed he didn't like the dark.

I remember there was a character he liked on TV and when I said he wasn't really it was just a man dress up in a costume he got quite upset over it.

What are your thoughts on this? Do you think he had Aspergers Syndome perhaps a different disorder? My mother who has worked with special needs, disabled people (she also currently helps children in school with Autism and Aspergers Syndrome) was convinced he has Aspergers Syndrome.
