and call me psychic...i never thoght i was psychic and dont htink i am but do any aspies here ever get told they have psychic abilities?
i dont want to hear from aspies who think they have psychic abilities but from those who are often told that through an example they are thougth of as psychic?

I heard this sometimes happens to people who think visually, but I don't think that properly applies to discussions about people. A few of us, or so it seems, may even be empaths, in that we can pick up on things that others aren't aware of. Strangely enough, not even supposed to be an aspie trait.

Honestly, I think it has a lot to do with how rational we are. Maybe some of us can fill in the gaps, because there is some internal desire to juggle the pieces and intuitively come up with a conclusion.

The most I can do is predict things in the future, and it has worked

i get this a lot. I also tend to dream about events and stuff before they actually take place. This freaks me out a little. Yeah, and these,eh, visions I guess. For example, I was out walking my dog one day, and I suddenly got this feeling of anxiety, followed by these strange thoughts (well, visual thoughts, but this is kinda obvious) of a plane crash. After coming in from our walk, I turned on the news to find out that a plane just had crashed somewhere near my home town.

Aspieness is an austism-spectrum disorder, right? Autism is generally manifested as extreme sensitivity to certain stimuli, right? Maybe you actually are kind of telepathic, in that you are extraordinarily sensitive to brain waves or something like that. That would be kick-ass, I'm jealous.

My husband was talking about this last night. He said he can read people, although he may not know how to socialize with them. He can just tell how a person is, what they're like on the inside. He just understands at a very deep level why people are the way they are and what makes them tick. It's been like this for as long as he can remember. He said it's almost like being psychic.

yeah...im curious, the ability to intuitively read people but an inability to intuitively undertstand them.

maybe it is a special ablity that not all aspies have.....but let me ask you this..............all aspies have a well developed aspie radar right?....or is this just me as well?

I think it is just that we look for details. I personally am such a simple-ton. I think alot of people ignore the foundational stuff. Also you may be attracting people with problems that they are in denial about. Maybe you are so sensitive that you are hearing deeper that most people and intuitive enough to 'fill- in' the obvious details that you know are there.

I agree with this statement. I sometimes find myself trying to figure out the point someone is trying to make while they're going on about the details.

Coincidences.

I’d invite persons to read Carl Jung’s book on synchronicities.

I'd add:

The mind is the origination of the pattern of psychical awareness, seeing and believing into patterns of futures it creates. It can imagine relevently in pre-cognified awareness patterns in the now from the then.

* 1 - 1.5 years observational study of psychic cults and proclaimed psychics online. Mostly Voice chat Groups. From group belief initiation of the individual, to belief conditioning within the groups to just observational study of indipendent self-proclaimed "psychics".

It is interesting, these people.

I'm not psychic, but my ability to make educated guesses is pretty frick'n good.

And I might have precognative dreams.

That's cool, I know what you mean. If someone is asking me a qustion I very often answer them before they even asked the question, like in 'yes/no' type answers. It just bursts out of my mouth and it's allmost allways what I wanted to answer had I listened to the question first (luckilly!).
And when people are telling stories, I 'play out' my emotional response (like a laugh, or saying 'hmm' or raising my eyebrows, etc etc) just before the person has actually gotten to the part that would prompt that response..!
I don't know if its telephatic or precognition or whatever, but it's definently not normal... :P I think visually most of the time and it was only recently that I found out that not everybody do this, but am not sure if it has anything to do with this..?

I often perceive things other people can't, and that can get read as psychic by some. When they perceive things I can't, though, that's just considered normal.
