I have two little sisters 9 and 11. Both were laughing out loud over something silly (to the two of them it was) and were loud in sound and tone and such. I was boiling ready to errupt to yell at them (but mom was only gone a few minutes) They always do this though mom leaves the vehicle it's loud screaming not AHHH! but laughing out loud and such. I'm considering making it a double check that I have my Ipod/headphones more often since if I blew up mom would have been down my throat in a second. :-( Anyone else have "loud child" issues perhaps it's sensory based I don't know. :-) Thanks.

My brothers started to get loud when they got older and I couldn't stand them and their friend. Oh they have always been loud but you know what I mean right? :D

I swear they get louder as they get older and mom also used to get mad at me too.

i have four kids. yes, they are loud. i don't know if they listen to you or not. you could try telling them to use their indoor voices. it's not a good idea to block out their noise if you are in charge of them while your mom is out. maybe if you told them that just because mom's gone out doesn't mean you can act all crazy, or something to that effect. with my kids i just go "HEY!" really loud then say "that's enough." if you are not watching them you can get some noise dampening headphones. they work great.

i can tolerate my own nieces, but other peoples' kids can get on my nerves. the high pitch screams find every last nerve fiber in my body and make me stiffen up like a wood board... well, it feels like that, anyway.
I like kids, and if i prepare for them, I can do ok. I work in schools sometimes. But going to Walmart or McDonalds can be traumatic.
