I've heard many times that having an index finger shorter than your ring finger is a sign of autism. But, how many people here actually have index fingers that are shorter than your ring fingers? Of all the people that i have looked at, only my dad and myself have shorter index fingers. How does your index finger compare to your ring finger?

Shorter, but I've heard the myth about other things too.

Apparently the size of your index finger, relative to the size of the finger next to your pinky, is an indicator of the amount of testosterone in your body. The larger it is the more testosterone you have. I heard this on a documentary.

My Index Finger is longer than my Ring Finger. I don't think it means anything, though.

My index finger is about half an inch longer than my ring finger.

Apparently, quite a few things can be assumed by digit ratio, but it's highly probablistic. Autism is one of them. A common observation is that a shorter ring finger is indicative of lower testosterone.

My indexfinger is shorter than my ringfinger. I've heard the indexfinger is the eostrogenfinger and the ringfinger is the testoteronfinger, the longer the ringfinger compared to the indexfinger the better you are at sports, and your cardio-vascal system is very good and strong.

Then I've heard a theory about autism and aspergers that it's a form of extreme "maleness", if you can say that, where you have a lot of testosteron affecting your personality.

I don't put much stock in this sort of ... finger diagnosis (digit differential, phalange physiology? :)).

For the record, my index fingers are pretty well even with my annulus fingers.

When I look at the BACK of my hand, my index finger is noticably shorter. From the front, both are about the same. And on both hands.
