After spending a long time looking for help for myself and finding little to none, I've come tothe conclusion that it's time for me to stop focusing on myself and look outwards. I want to help Aspies in my area. Not the parents of Autistic kids so much(though perhaps I can provide information from my perspective if asked), but actual people like me with the diagnosis. Where do I start? It's been suggested that a blog or YouTube thing would be a good start, but that feels almost too disconnected for me. I've got motivation, but I'm at a loss at where I should best direct my energy. Thoughts?

If you haven't already, try starting a meetup.com group. You should find a few people right off the bat who've been looking for people like you to talk to.

Thanks, sacrip! Not familiar with the site but certainly will look into it.

What part of Kansas are you in? There was a meet-up group from Overland Park at one time. It was over-run by several hundred parents who have kids on the spectrum. All they wanted to do was sit around and commiserate. It was all way too much for me.

Right near Overland Park, actually. And yeah, I tried that selfsame group with similar results. I have found a group of Aspie peers that's actually a little closer to where you are and have attended one of their functions. I guess what I'm trying to accomplish now is to find the best way to advocate going forward. Most of the organizations I've run into around here are run by NT folk and don't really want help from an Aspie, despite the fact that I'm sure I could be of same value somehow.

I just want to do something for someone other than myself in the community.
