The title may seem a bit provocative (maybe that's how they get people to read them). But I just found this article interesting, thought some of y'all might find it useful/interesting/relatable.

I am often very polarized when socializing; either being extremely quiet or, as the article says, "plunging off the deep end". That's something I've been trying to work on these days.

That was helpful. Thanks for posting! :)

I also noticed that the website has a whole section for articles on autism and I'm currently going through and reading them.

The article really made me feel like the author believes introversion to be somewhat pathological...

Introverted behavior by itself is not a "mistake"!

I read her article, thought about it for a few seconds, and decided to change nothing about myself. :P

Yes, exactly. I felt like the article was saying, "Hey, introverts! Don't be so introverted!"

Did you really? All I saw was a bunch of behaviours I've observed myself doing that I'd rather not.

Here are some mistakes that introverts are prone to make.

I didn't see anything that stated or suggested that introversion is itself a mistake.

I had that same horrible feeling as well.

I do almost all those things and I am extroverted, not really introverted.

Me too. If anything that article has strengthened my need to be more introverted. The article almost made me feel bad for not wanting to socialise, then I remember the crippling anxiety I used to have when trying to be like others.

Quote:
Letting your mouth run away with you: Ah, the dreaded babble. It happens. Lots of us chatter when we're nervous. Shy introverts might be prone to this. It's like running down a hill; once you get started, it's hard to slow down. But it also might happen when the subject is something you are particularly passionate about. Either you get caught up in your own enthusiasm, or you burrow deep into your own knowledge and forget to check audience reaction.

Rofl!

And then that explains me. In class I have found myself becoming more and more weird depending on the assignment and how it tickles my obsession.
