(I say that phrase sooo much lol)

Anyway, I was thinking... First, I do not know if I am an aspie or not, but I relate to MANY of the traits.

Today, I was thinking about something. These are VERY raw thoughts though, so there may be many holes in my thinking....

There seems to be something about patterns, structure, order within the realm of AS. Not only about LIKING them, BUT... about CREATING them. It feels almost as if one needs to create a pattern, etc, from scratch each time. Either one is limited to this, or just prefers it, I am not sure.

I was thinking about how I do like things with patterns, or symmetry, or structure to it. But then I also have this part of me that really only likes my OWN creation of these things. I spend a LOT of my thinking coming up with new theories on stuff. And I prefer my own to someone else's. I used to hate this about Uni - I hated having to study and research other people's theories, and always felt so frustrated that I couldn't present my own.

I get annoyed if plans change. Why? Because I put SO MUCH effort into creating Plan A, that for that to suddenly not work, it is devastating. Not only do I have to unravel Plan A, but then I have to create Plan B with a new piece or pieces that I don't think work as well. hence for me, it is either Plan A or nothing, and I get upset at the loss of Plan A.

This fits into the perfectionist thing also. You create this massive, complex structure from scratch - using a lot of thought and/or research.

People are hard because they are UNPREDICTABLE and no one person is generally like the other. Hence, each interaction with a new person means you have to start almost from scratch each time. It is exhausting, and it is hard to be able to learn another person’s logic for why they are doing what they are doing.

Because I like to come up with theories from scratch, I find it hard to “come in on” someone else’s theory... I often have to wait til I find a way to relate it to one of my theories before I can then understand it. I love my own analogies, they help me to understand someone else.

I have ALWAYS loved problem solving. Yet I like to do it in my own way. People often comment to me about how strangely I solved a problem and how it didn't fit with "common sense". Hence, another example of how, in order to understand something, I had to go about it from scratch in my own head.

I am always seeking truth in order to solve problems and I (often mistakenly) believe that other people are also doing this.
I often have this notion that we are “all out trying to work out the solutions to problems TOGETHER”. Hence, to lie is only to get in the way of this. I am very surprised to hear that people have been lying about something and can't understand why they would bother.

Collections/obsessions: perhaps a need for structure/patterns and need for getting at the “truth” of a matter. One needs to delve very deep in order for this to occur. Being “theory creators” the more you learn, the more you can create your own theories, perhaps?
Maybe also because it takes such an effort to start from scratch all the time, it is more appealing to just work on the one topic over and over.
Or with collections perhaps it is just an aesthetic pleasure for structure/patterns.

Hard to make friends? One reason may be that one is so off on another world it is hard to keep “coming back to reality” to where other people are, plus your own theories don't match the common ones, plus need to have a new pattern for each different person.
Hard to read social cues? No pattern, hence always confusing.
Like to stick to routine? Something that one has already done the hard thinking on and hence gets to just press play with a fairly predictable, acceptable result.
Emotionless face? Yes, always “inside head” hence not often present “in face”.
Tired a lot? Yes, because brain always going a million miles an hour lol

Anyway, not sure if this is all something obvious, something completely unrelated to AS, or something really stupid lol But it was on my mind, namely the idea that one needs to start from scratch to create new personalised/unique patterns constantly for different experiences.

Any thoughts?

That would require thinking.

Now that I think about it, I think I think too much too. Some creepy similarities between what you think and I think. Have you been peeking at my thinking?

I don't care whether you know if you're AS or not or an NT. I think that it's fun having you around. :)

lol After me unloading all my thoughts like that, it is so refreshing to hear a comment like this rather than an "omg you really overthink everything don't you?" with a bewildered look lol

Thankyou :)

hi analyser23,

all what you say, i can perfectly relate with, and i am very sure, that you are as what is called "AS" in the same way as i am.

as you are a woman, i would be interested, in how good or bad your social competence is. Can you smalltalk good, do you have many friends? Did you modify what you tell a person according to context?

another thing: you call yourself "analyser", why that? :-)
my father (probably also AS, but doesn't know it) always kept "you are an analyser" to me, since i was a small boy :-D

byebye,
anton
