This is a pic of the Fraser River near my home. The beach is used by nudists and campers but is not listed on any of our city websites.

I didn't know nudist beaches were usually facing houses, even if they are a bit far off. You never know if there's some creepy old guy with binoculars around.

Nude beaches aren't always secluded. For example, Wreck Beach is the infamous nude beach in the city of Vancouver. Wreck Beach has the biggest provincial airport next door and the helicopters fly so low over Wreck Beach that the wind lifts up the sand and you have to hold onto your blanket. As well, there are two highrise towers over Wreck Beach where people live and they have full view of the beach.

Anyway, the little beach posted above is not only the local nude beach in the city of Surrey, it's the local GAY NUDE beach. I guess it's called Bridgeview Beach, although I never knew that it had a name. Here's a blurb I managed to find on some website about the beach:

SURREY: Bridgeview Reach Nude Beach.
Located on the North bank of the Fraser River just East of the Amix salvage yard at 12301 Musqueum Surrey.
Directions: "To get there, take the King George Highway North towards the Patullo Bridge, veering to the right before the bridge onto Musqueum in front of the Turf Hotel. Follow this road straight ahead and it will go under the train tressel, turning right at Ritchie Brothers, and after an S-bend will pass the Amix Salvage yard. The beach is located at the East end of the fenced Amix compound. There is a large cement block on which someone has painted "Nude Beach" with an arrow. It is quite private, and has about 150' of sandy beach. The folks I met there said they'd been going to this spot for years and that the nude salmon fishing at the end of the summer was a lot of fun!"

I haven not heard of this beach before. I will have to visit some time and see for myself.
I love wreck beach. Not just because you run into creepy nekkid old men, but because it is a beautiful spot to find sea ducks, eagles, pileated woodpeckers, cormorants, as well as seals and all the little sea life between the rocks and glowing green seaweeds.

When I've been there the creepy nekkid old men were not the problem. It was the groups of Asian business men in suits with the cameras around their necks that I found a little offensive.

I don't go to such beaches anymore. Not with that big hole in the Ozone layer and all the skin cancer warnings.
