Hi ,I took the aspie quiz awhile back and had 165/200...but now Im going in for DX in a few days and want to go over each question to try and understand "why" I might have answered each question as I did....maybe I miss understood what they were actually asking? The reason Im questioning the results is that I have difficulty with ambiguity....Also questioning if AS applies to me after going through grade school records...not much info but looked like I got mostly A and B and only problems noted were inability to stay in seat, atay quit and leave others alone but they said I improved greatly, so....

When I first found out about AS it seemed obviouse that it applied to me, but reading through old journals, seems like my major obsession besides reading and "making things" was a relationship....how to get one...new person I was dating...how to make the relationship work....depression when it failed....getting over the person....then starting the cycle again....that doesnt sound like an unusuall obsession to me it sounds very NT....I did get obsessed with new concepts in books, yoga, holistic medicine,sculpture...but none of those are unussual...my obsession with them at the time might have harmed relationships because it was more fun to learn about them then be destracted by people, but I would ussually put them aside if it came to doing something that might help me find a boyfriend....that was my main focus from 12-30...after that it became less important ,pretty much gave up on the idea that I would ever find someone one liked me as I was and not trying to change me or divert me from my current interests

I apologise if this post is caotic in thought but that is my brain lately....I have spent so much energy trying not to think about the past to avoid getting depressed(suggestion by therapist and somewhat effective)that now it is hard to remmber how I was when I was younger.....Im terrified to ask my parents because they are christian scientist and hate any thing to do with psychology(and I think are a little dysfunctional themselves so I dont really trust their perceptions and never have)Mom thinks she can "pray" me better and it only makes problems worse to talk about them....CS is based on,"the art of denial"(dont tell them i said that!!)

I will try and get more school records but am not likely to find much because im so ancient(42)In the mean time if someone could post a link to any free online testing including "aspie Quiz" or anything more scientific? I would appriciate it....4 days until DX and I'm obsessing...need to get my head clear and write things down because I either cry or have memmory blocks when stressed(which is anytime I have to deal with authority figures who can judge me...thats what they are paid for...)

You can study the evaluations of Aspie-quiz. They tell you the correlation between the questions and autism, based on answers. The higher correlation, the more relevant for an autism-related-dx. Observe that red questions have negative correlation, and thus are formulated so the aspie answer would be NO.

Dumb question about the quiz and the "Recent Main Ancestry" part....why would it include Ireland (very specific) but not England or Scotland...the other closest is Caucasian...it just seems weird that they list so many specific countries but fail to put England, Scotland, Canada, and the United States. :?

rdos.....

Thanks for the quiz....I used it as a format for organizing my "traits" for my new DR....I am a horrible "literalist" so I explained and gave examples based on my perceptions of the questions and hope that the DR can sort it out from there....I dont have my next appt. for a month but I'll post on the outcome and any comments he may have on the relevancy of the Quiz.....over all, I think it will be helpful to him and it was very helpful for me to organize my memories....

It has UK. I deliberately excluded Canada, the US and the whole of south America as well. The reason is that I wanted those people to classify as Caucasian, native amercian, afro-american or hispanic instead. The term american would be useless in the prevalence study.
