How come walking on tip toes is such a freaky thing to do? It seems even if you walk with a slight bounce you are inviting yourself to mockery by other people.

Do you think its unfair to judge somebody just by the way they walk? I know non autistic people who don't walk flat footed.

It's just that toe walking can tighten the achilles tendon, which causes all kinds of pressure on your joints. Not healthy, in other words.

Probably because walking on tiptoes is painful to some people and they are just thinking "that probably hurts". Walking on tip toes hurts me.

Well, I find it seriously funny that that's something people get mocked for doing. While if you're female and doing it with assistance (high heels) then suddenly it's expected, sexy and if you're not doing it at special social occasions you're weird. I mean WTF people? WTF?

I remember when I was eight, I was at daycare at a gym while my parents were working out. I all of a sudden see this little girl who was still in diapers and she was walking on her top toes. It totally freaked me out. But my only reaction was asking this lady if that was her kid and then asking why does she walk on her tip toes. The mother said she didn't know and said some people walk different and some people walk on their heels. Then she asked me why do I walk flat on my feet. I remember being all confused and still couldn't understand why she was walking on her tip toes. Now as an adult I wonder if it's possible that girl may have been autistic and it's a possibility the mother didn't understand either but looked at it as everyone is different and some people just walk differently than others. Since then I have not seen anyone else walk on their tippy toes.

So NT of me to get freaked out by a difference :P
