I get bored really easily. I'm bored right now. Is this an Aspie trait?

I do, but I don't know if it's an aspie trait. I have heard the opposite, actually.

I think getting bored really easily is more of an ADD/ADHD trait than an Aspie trait.

I'm an aspie and I find it easy to entertain myself. I can easily get bored of subjects or activities, but I'm rarely bored out of inability to find anything to entertain myself with. I always have my vivid imagination to keep me entertained and busy.

I don't think boredom is an aspie trait, but it definitely seems a young persons trait. I cannot imagine ever being bored. The only time I came close was when I was arrested and had to spend 13 hours in a cell with absolutely nothing to do.

It is a source of great sadness that in my allotted three score and ten there won't be time enough to do all the things that I enjoy doing.

Like Amik, I am perfectly capable of entertaining myself, provided that I am left alone. But then I always carry a book around with me and most of the time I carry a computer with a charged battery too so as not to be left without nothing to do.
But if I have to attend NT-specific events and occasions and can't excuse myself or do something to occupy me, I get bored almost instantly. I have become really good at faking attention and alertness on such occasions while actually doing something more interesting.
But then was this wedding when I whipped out a laptop halfway through the reception and immersed myself into the depths of Project Gutenberg. It was a good thing, actually, I don't get wedding invitations anymore.

I agree with Amik. I can read articles on Wikipedia for hours, learning stuff for fun. Although, sometimes nothing I try to do is fun, and I can't tolerate boredom, but that's because of ASPD, not Asperger's.

Attention problems/anomalies often come along with asperger's, though not always.

It's impossible for me to be bored as well.

The only time I approach that state is when I'm forced to do something I consider boring, like playing a stupid party game with NTs. The last time that happened I quit in the middle (I didn't care that it was 'rude', I think it's rude to make people do things they don't want to) and stared at the wall, which I found more interesting.

I suppose that I should add that, while I'm 29 now, when I was a teenager I was absolutely bored to death. I screamed internally all the time at the sheer burden of boredom that I had to endure.

Now things are much... better.

I do get very bored easily, except when I'm engaging in my interests. If I'm away from my interests for a very long period of time, everything I do bores me. It's my special interests that keep me sane.

There are very few things that can make me bored. I'm mostly never bored.

My attention span varies from one day to the next. This in turn influences how often I am bored, because on some days I am able to concentrate on doing almost anything and on others, almost nothing. Boredom makes me miserable, so I try to avoid it when I can.

I am a person with about 6 interests at any one time. That's six things to do when I get bored, but still I find myself getting bored. Maybe it's the fact that there's six things I could do and I can't decide which one of these six things I should start with.

That and I also do have ADHD. I'm a switcher between tasks, despite the fact that I find it hard to switch between tasks. But when I get bored I can either pace around my house blankly or find something else to do.

Motivation and focus does have a part to play. I would read only if I thought I had enough focus to read. My interests are all a bit mentally draining and require a lot of motivation to even start them. Sometimes I don't even think I'm motivated enough to connect a videogame console.

I have a short attention span on most things other than my special interests. Not sure if I get bored easily but can find it difficult to focus. I think my mind is constantly busy analyzing and processing information. I'm diagnosed with inattentive type adhd as well as asperger's.

I get bored quite easily, even with things that interest me. However, I've been diagnosed with ADD.

I never get bored unless I'm prevented from entertaining myself.
