Corpus Callosum Agenesia or AS?
Has anyone come across this congenital malformation during their Asperger-reseach? Recently it came clear to me that it fits even better than AS on me.
There's some information on it on Wikipedia, but the article is a bit short.
Basically, the corpus callosum connects the two brain hemispheres and allows effective co-processing. Without it, it becomes harder to effectively translate e.g. visual information or emotions into words or logic and vice versa. Agenesia isn't always the case, hypoplasia may also produce symptoms, though milder.
Symptoms include delayed facial recognition, difficulty with understanding social cues, aphasia, apraxia/delayed skill learning.
According to Wikipedia, it may be misdiagnosed as AS or other ASDs
