I was wondering if Dr Temple Grandin was a member of Wrong Planet?

And we might politely invite her and see what she thinks.

Good question and I don't know. In so far as I understand, she's not. But I wish she were! Maybe we could invite her?

But, as I understand (no promises but there are clues 8) ) Tony Attwood is a member. Undercover as any other ordinary member. Sshhh.

Aside from all guessing, I do know the Wrong Planet has at least a few 'well-known' individuals, as we might expect. Personally, if I were a professional in the field of autism research (or related), I'd join the Wrong Planet as we are the ultimate resource.

...just the kind of thread Temple Grandin might create to effectively disguise her identity.

It would be awesome if she was a member, except she would get bombarded with messages!

Her recent speech at TED is brilliant,

We should invite her  :D

I would imagine she's incredibly busy traveling, giving speeches, and contributing to the auditing system in the cattle, etc industry.

I agree. I saw a show about her the other night. She began laughing as she looked at her calendar---it looked like it was completely pencilled in with bookings and engagements. I don't know how she would have the time.

As far as I know, she isn't, but John Elder Robison is (I thought that was really cool).

ahh..but even a very busy travelling, lecturing world-famous aspie might like a chance to get online and spill her guts about her latest embarassing aspie-moment ;)

Doubt it.

I'm not really a fan of her, actually; I think I'm alone when it comes to that.

I'm not a fan of her either, although I think I mean it in a more literal sense -- I don't have the kind of fannish devotion to her that a lot of people do. I'm not actively repulsed by her either, although I'm occasionally repulsed by some of her ideas (while appreciative of others). But I don't really relate to people in general in the way that "being a fan" implies, and am disturbed whenever I notice people behaving like fans. (Including towards me occasionally, which I hate the worst. 8O )

I've been wondering the same thing as well, all these years.

I have to wonder though, about famous people who "might" be on here... I understand of course that it might seem like a good idea to hide your identity, but, doesn't it defeat the purpose of the board for them? I know if I had to be careful about not revealing to much of my past , my age, my situation in life, the site would become useless for me, I couldn't ask the questions I need to ask or get effective answers about my problems, if part of the story I told was untrue....
Even if they're here , it must be a torture to see everybody spill their souls and be understood, and be unable to do it for fear of being recognised...

If there were famous people on here: they would probably be as anonymous as possible. I'm sure if she was here she would not be telling. I am a nobody so I don't mind my picture as my avatar.

I really respect the amount of thought and time that goes into your posts. You are also very knowledgable in what you post. I won't call myself a fan, but I feel that sometimes you have insight that others don't have.
