I have noticed through the years, now more than ever, that my hand gestures are weird. I tend to have weird, unusual hand gestures.

For example, I went to a job interview once, and I sat on a chair, and while I talked, the guy interviewing me kept staring at my hands, which I kept
moving while I spoke, and now that I think about it, I was moving them way too much, as if every syllable demanded me to move my hands along with it.

I have a lot of weird hand gestures, I can't gesture when I'm talking because I type to communicate, but I have odd gestures other than that.

My hands and arms move around all over the place when I'm talking, like they have a will of their own.
Thing is, I'm never sure if they're adding their own running commentary or miming/adding to what I'm saying.
At interviews or other desk-based 'important things' I usually sit on my hands. It's the only way.

My hands are constantly moving around when I'm talking. I can't even keep track of everything or notice when I do it (although I sometimes stop it when I notice, but I just start right back up again). I sometimes find myself gesturing in relation to the words I'm saying, but I am not sure if the gestures mean anything.

I'm always doing something with my hands, just like that guy from The Simpsons. I have noticed that whenever I talk, moving my hands around somehow helps to get words out.

I can play the drums to any song that plays from my iPod (2000+ songs).

Like, my right hand plays a mock drum kit on the wheel or shifter that is placement-accurate, and is usually 100% correct to the song playing.

i sometimes hit my hands together or wring them and whatnot but I don't think it's in anyway communicative. it just happens.

I've been told I don't do a lot of communicative hand gestures. The same person also told me I also will sometimes do a sort of chopping gesture with both my hands (or one hand) or something like that when talking.
When I've freaked out at home my chopping hand gestures get intense and I bring my hands up toward my head. And/or move my hands around up by my head.

Hand gestures just as much as eyebrow gestures.
I am raising my right eyebrow as I type.

haha I notice that whenever I'm having difficulty in trying to express something in words, I just start flailing my hands all over the place. More so if it's a stressful situation (like a job interview. Btw I hate job interviews).

I do not speak with my hands....you know how when people move their hands as they speak to, I guess, emphasize what they are saying. Or for whatever reason. I don't really know why most people gesture with their hands when they speak. Still, I move my hands oddly sometimes, and some of my stims involve my hands. Occasional hand-flapping. In public though, I tend to finger-flick more or do this other thing with my hands that I can't really explain. I also sometimes hold my hands in odd ways which I do not really notice until someone points it out to me.

i do not gesticulate. my hands are always still when i am not using them for a physical purpose.

the only exception i can think of pertinent to my lack of gesticulation is that i will trace diagrams in the air when i am trying to describe concepts.

I can soo relate, my hand gesturing is usually pretty subtle, thumbs tucked in, picking or poking or pulling on something, but man, when I'm stressed, or especially frustrated when I'm having trouble communicating, watch out for hands flying about lol.

My hands usually do move when I talk, especially when describing something.

I may spell out words with my hands, I even use hand gestures to count off syllables when writing/spelling something when I'm bored......

i flap my fingers with the speed of lightning, but only when i'm alone. the two fingers next to my thumb and i look at them sometimes when i do this. i do it sometimes when i'm reading or listening to music or just thinking, and my fingers flap faster if i'm thinking faster. and the words i'm reading or hearing in the song played on the radio i imagine going under my fingers, as if flowing off them.
sometimes i use two fingers to flip a handkerchief or a pen. i might do this for hours. it's relaxing to watch the handkerchief sail through the air and again, the words i'm hearing or thinking flow from it.
i also flex my fingers or clench my fists or grab my index and middle finger with my thumb. i do this without realizing it till someone tells me or i just catch myself doing it.
this forum is the only place i can write this without anyone thinking i'm a complete lunatic.
