I've had people call me shy, cold, stuck-up, antisocial and ignorant because they don't understand my lack of communication/socialisation is down to AS, but I think I get 'stuck-up' most of all because of how I look. It is hurtful when people always seem to assume the worst :?

What do you tend to get the most?

Since I am very eccentric, I tend to get called "crazy" by people who don't get me. They mistake my eccentricity for craziness, but I am quite rational, more so than most people I've come across. In fact, I tend to judge the things they do and come to the conclusion that something's up with more than a few of them.

I've been called plenty of negative names. Name one and I've probably been called it.

I've also been called very intelligent and "smart."

People have told me I have beautiful hair.

I've also been referred to as aloof and unfriendly in addition to the other labels listed by other posters.

"Introverted" is the most used term.

I heard "aloof" once in a counseled remark to help me; it was a good natured effort.

The nicknames and labels I notice are based on adoration or fear. So I figure that's a good thing in a way. They tend to think I'm jewish or call me rain man. Either that or think I'm gay or be angry in general and use other terms. I think its a coping system to explain a unknown factor they've found. Labels are just labels tho.

I was called shy a lot during my childhood.
Weird is one I get a lot now.
My sister tends to call me nerd/geek/dork and other similar words. She no longer calls me ret*d but did all throughout my childhood.
I used to get called emo a lot but no longer can I wear tight jeans.
My mum called me Tommy, as in Tommy the deaf/dumb/blind boy from the Who's album. Although I think he was autistic.

I have been called bright, creative, and smarter than the average bear. Ahh, thanks mum.
