I am not yet diagnosed with AS. However my parents are going to take me to the doctor at some point. I was wondering how long it would take the doctor to come to a conclusion?

I'm in the same boat, however I don't have the coverage to see a therapist or any psychologist. I do think it wouldn't take too long, because I know they would have to run some tests to clarify, but nothing more than a day or two, but most of the time they can probably tell right off the bat.

It took my shrink almost a year to figure out I may have AS. Mom started taking me to her in November 1996 and then by the time I got to 6th grade, she figured I could have AS and I think it was September by then. Mom then took me to a psychiatrist who specialized in it and it took him over two months to diagnose me. But I was difficult to diagnose because of my early history of hearing loss.

my GP(doctor) referred me to a psychiatrist, it took two weeks for the appointment date, after which it was two months of talking with the mental health team, so it took a little under 3 months from referral and diagnosis.
