Celebrate by turning your Facebook blue, or doing other stuff. Today's your day!

LET'S CELEBRATE BY SITTING IN THE CORNER OF A ROOM ROCKING!

No but seriously let's use this day to be proud, just to piss off Autism Speaks, who seem to be the ones running this s**t.

For Cockney Rebel: I would really like to know what your plans are for annoying Autism Speaks. Please tell us.

Thanks. Irene

Suggestion, you could send them a bunch of emails, all signed by various members of the kinks. Every 5 minutes.

I had an avatar of my kindered soul earlier on that was completely blue that started getting on my nerves and I've also posted a small poster on Facebook that one of our own members made, that has puzzle pieces that form the shape of a heart that says, "Celebrate Neurodiversity!" that's all blue. I was going to use that for my Facebook avatar, but I like that picture of Mick that I started using in the September of 2009 too much, so I did it this way. :)

I posted on my Facebook status;

Quote:
April is Autism Awareness Month.
Autism effects around 1 in 100 people so odds are you have an autistic person on your friends list, in fact you do; me - I have Asperger Syndrome. Autism effects people differently, but we all face ignorance, prejudice, misunderstanding, and lack of support - awareness means equality.
Accompanied with a link to the National Autistic Society (UK) page 'What is Asperger Syndrome?'

This was me coming out to my friends as being aspie...no one paid any attention, not sure they twigged. :?

I realized I had on a purple shirt, so I've decided that it symbolizes a mixture of hope for those who are struggling with understanding autism (the blue theme) and rage at autism speaks (red). Ta-da! :compress:
