It seems that my assumptions are always wrong. Things always turns out to be the opposite of what I assumed it to be and this happens all the time. I also often see wierd things happening which is beyond my imagination. I don't even believe my own eyes that such things are actually happening. Is there something really wrong with me or is the world just screwed? :(

What do you mean by 'I see weird things happening'? Do you mean that you see things that are not real, or that you are not sure whether they are real or not?

Hi there gyaspie, I agree with SilkySefaka, please be more specific as we can't be of much help if we are not really certain what you mean. The things people around us do, seem strange lots of the time and lots of the things that happen do indeed indicate a screwed up world! (maybe because its mostly run by NTs!)

Thanks.

Maybe an example or two would clarify more. Do you mean weird situation as in someone is offended at something you said innocently or more like you just saw yourself as a child sitting accross from you in a room? 'Weird' is so broard and subjective it could really mean a lot of different things.

"wierd" is like why will some people do such a thing or why does such a thing exist or why does someone suddenly become like that or it is so easy and why don't they just do that etc. very hard to be specific because there are too many examples i encountered. everything seems to move in a funny way. i feel that i am seeing the world through a translucent glass, able to see but not able to feel.

I think you have described in your own way, the feeling different from everyone else feeling that many of us on WP have.

And you might be suffering with disassociation or derealisation, which are states of mind that Aspies can have too.

Thank you for being more specific! I absolutely agree, we do indeed think differently to most of the other people around us and tend to react in a different way and to process info in a different way. So many of the things in the world seem weird because they do not seem logical to us Aspies. I tend to ask weird questions that others would not likely think about. Since I was only diagnosed a few years back I look back and realise how many times I was in trouble for doing or saying something that no-one else would do, such as confronting a traffic officer writing out a parking fine for an elderly lady.
I have also spent many years making my own maps of my own country with its cities, rivers and towns. This particular hobby / obsession, one of a number of more ordinary ones, is not something others can understand!
