I believe in living in the present. Has anyone had any original ways of thinking that, should one be actually listening, would be enlightened by? Not a quote from someone else. Something they actually came up with. My brain is fogged down and would like some thing intelligent to hear/read with out all the jargon that some put around it so that 'social' minded people can first be comforted by it.

I'll have a try.

Using a yacc-parseable grammar such as that for Lojban, one could programatically generate a family of languages expressing this grammar.

These machine-constructed languages could then be passed through an evolutionary algorithm to select for coherence under noisy channels (which retains more meaning when subjected to Gaussian noise?), rates of linguistic drift, and such. You could minimize the effect of phonological drift, as well as evolve a written form optimized for clarity under noisy conditions.

One could optimize, in rather short order, a very robust language.

Suppose, for instance, the simulation included periodic bottlenecks, and the fitness function was a measure of minimizing linguistic drift? You'd have a language tailor-made for surviving an apocalypse or three.

Ok here's one: Living too long in the present results in getting stuck in survival mode.
Just a friendly warning from a experience expert

Although I have found when one 'searches' one never finds. It is only after one gives up on the search that the answer is found...personal experience :( ... result...what does one do while waiting? And what is left to search for? I'm at a bit of a wall. I guess I'm looking for something and am open to finding it and receiving...just leaving it open to be received in good light. Life seems to be a bit of a wave. I think I'm in a trough.

Yes but who would be privy to the language? Only the educated?

2 problems:

1. Very few ideas are completely correct...the converse also has truth in it. Spreading personal beliefs on an industrial scale is morally dodgy.

2. To transmit a truth to another person, even if you can find a truth, is often a very personal thing, requiring different approaches for different types of people.....one man's buzz word is another man's anathema. There is no universal soundbite, so you'd need a whole box of them.

But if you must have a "live for today" mantra, I guess "now is the happiest time of your life" is as good as any. It's not mine, but it sums it up so well for me that I feel no need to re-invent the wheel.

Ah, but if one were to speak from the heart, one would find words would turn into phrases and one phrase is appropriately heard at what ever level the listener is able to hear. It is the development of the phrases in which new things are inspired.

One can search and one can be found. solution: attract attention.

If this is about love, keep flaunting!

perhaps not the deepest of thoughts but taken from a real life encounter:

"If I need to pretend to be someone else in order for someone to be my friend, what kind of friend are they?" (pre-AS self DX...:))

No, not about love. If love is what I need between the creator and my husband, children and myself I'm covered.

This is about having someone with enough intellect to have a conversation with where my brain actually feels like it's moving. Whenever I talk I have to keep the conversations 'light' so that people won't give me the 'you're loosing me' statement. I was hoping someone would say something that stimulates the intellect. That I would have to actually ponder and pay attention to the words. To me that is like candy.

I love my husband. When he comes home from work and the three kids blind him with their needs after they get what they need from me, well...we have date 'day' on Saturdays that we try to keep at least twice a month. Needless to say he's exhausted and I understand. It'd be cool if I had a friend to communicate with, but...all I have is an NT friend I've been very carefully trying to become friends with. I'm trying to do all the 'social' things right. Maybe this one I'll be able to keep. I tried talking my way for a bit...but she got 'busy' doing other things and just didn't have 'time'. If you know what I mean. So, since I been keeping things light and fluffy, she's suddenly calling me to go biking and stuff. Which is cool. Only, the intellect is still 8O .

I'd say you should look for talking circles in your vicinity. Discussions, books, intellectuals, your interests, etc.

To be with the world I have learned that I need to 'be someone else'. If I'm myself I get to hang with ... me. Which is cool most of the time. But, sometimes, not being alone, is something I need too. Different friends to meet different needs. No one person can be all. Not even myself. That would be a fairy tale. I'm old enough to know better.

Another attempt.

The human brain is a finite-state machine. This means there is a finite number of states it can be in: a finite number human lives which can be experienced. Every possible life path, memory, and experience, is somewhere in this mindspace. Every life that has ever been lived, or ever could be lived, is represented somewhere in the total number of states the human brain can be in.

Somewhere in this vast, 3^^3^^3^^? mindspace, is the point that corresponds to you. As well as all the other possible "you's" which could exist and will exist.

The point? There exists a path in this configuration space between the point that represents you, and the point that represents the experiences you wish to have and the qualities you which to possess.

The only downside is that the fastest algorithm possible for discovering this path is O(n).

I'm having difficulty with the 'finite' statement. Because of the unknown knowledge of whether we are working with a closed circuit or not, how could we know if one is working within any measurable parameters? I believe I am more then what the 'mind' can conceive.

But running with the assumption that the first statement is true (which I cannot conceive), I believe the remaining statement could be correct.

I do however quite enjoy the thinking process of it. Perhaps I should learn to crawl before I learn to fly...it's just that flying is so much more fun!

Staying in the present is really important to recovery, and recovery is really important to me. So, I have to address this often -- certainly more often than daily. At least hourly? Anyway, here are two concepts, which may sound a little trite at first but which become fairly meaningful when you're actually living them:

"Right now is all you have."

"Stop living in the wreckage of your future."

I'm not confident in my authorship of either of these little catch-phrases; but, I'm not sure that they're somebody else's either. Take that for what you will. And they're more than slogans, I think (I hope?) in that there is really something substantial behind them. Practically speaking, one of the two of them is usually enough to snap me back into the moment. The first tends to work in dreamy, existential-type moods; the second tends to work in fear and anxiety based moods.
