I'm being serious here. I hate April fools, I guess it has to do something with sudden changes. I can do slow, gradual changes. However, when its fast all the sudden changes I just can't handle that. Its come without warning.

People say I need to lighten up, mostly about forum stuff. But when I have work to get done on the days I have free time I need the forums to be exactly as I left it. Or else I have these very confusing moments where I don't know where everything is.

I just don't like April fools, especially on forums the most. But even in real life. Its just something I wish would disappear.

I think knowing when April 1st is coming and knowing there might be lot of pranks on here or pranks pulled that day, it's not a sudden change because you were expecting it.

But if you forgot it was the first of April, that I can understand.

And this forum changes all the time, people keep posting so threads keep getting bumped to the top and new ones get posted.

I agree wholeheartedly. Some people just prove how immature they are on this day. IMO April Fools day is BS.

I can manage April Fools Day because I tend not to get up until the afternoon...what I dislike is when people continue playing the jokes and trying to trick me throughout the day - on the plus side yes I may be more prone to tricks, particularly when not expecting them later in the day, but I do then get to point out how stupid they are for not realising April Fools ends at 12pm so tricking me makes THEM the fool.

Well I believe my birthday has a sort of a sanctity about it. Yes, April 1st is my birthday. I would prefer it if it wasn't "april fool's day," so people don't turn my birthday into a sort of joke and a carnival. It's not my friends who do it of course. Of course people use the day as an excuse to show immaturity. But I think it's pretty special, because it's my birthday!

It's really annoying, yes. Especially the immature people going around posting all of this stuff on forums. I mean, if you make one thread, that's fine... but it's pretty futile to make thread after thread because it no longer is a "joke"; people know that it's an April Fool's thread.

It's the day when trolling is suddenly okay and people who are annoyed by it are suddenly prudes or don't know how to take a joke or whatever. A lot of the times, it's really boring crap. I understand pranking in real life to an extent. I don't like the pranks but they can be kind of entertaining. I mean, this foil office is a bit of awesome:

But the internet BS is just BS and it's lame and boring. The "omgz here's awful news uhoh lolz just kidding!" schtick doesn't work as more than mere trolling.

I think Google and Blizzard have pretty good jokes most of the time.

I have an easier time spotting incoming jokes online because it is April 1st, as long as I remember it is April 1st.

IRL, no one's tried to prank me in a long time, thankfully.

Glad someone else pointed this out. :)

I don't think it's THAT common knowledge. I didn't find out until I was about 15, and nobody else in the school knew either. You can't blame people for thinking it lasts all day when it is called April Fool's DAY and not April Fool's MORNING.

Yes. It is also known as the Festival of the Norse god Loki, who is known for being a prankster. I read somewhere that it ends at midday.
