Ever since I was about 20 I started getting allergies to all kinds of foods like eggs, soy, yeast and anything fermented, preservatives, wheat, mold.

It's hard to eat out. Just meat and rice and veggies is it.

I also get wired from decafe coffee and I'm very sensitive to drugs and their side effects. Anyone else have this?

After I removed the silver/mercury fillings in my teeth I was able to have more caffeine but it stills causes anxiety.

I suspect it ruined my liver since that is a common side effect of mercury, along with shyness. (makes you wonder how safe those fillings really are)

I saw on the female apie traits list, food allergies were on there. Thank god I'm not a total freak!!

anyone else?

Some stuff works very laxating for me like dairy products.

I am easily addicted to just about everything, still trying to control my fat and sugar addiction.
That's why I don't do addicting stuff.

there is also some rumor, that annexia nervosa (eating disorder) is related to AS. that AN is the female version of AS .... so you are probably not alone ;-)

Been studying Aspergers for years never hear that one. I do not have or have ever had anorexia or any eating disorder. I eat plenty and believe in healthy weight and exercise.

I have trouble believing that. I spent some time in an eating disorder clinic and none of them seemed anything but normal. I've also never come across that in any of the research that I have done on the topic.

I have, however, seen that anorexic behaviors and food avoidance manifest with ASDs sometimes and that AN is sometimes a misdiagnosis because the root cause of the food-related behaviors is not understood.

I have reactions to all sorts of food (many that are on your list, actually). Some just cause normal allergic reactions, like itching, but other cause an intense sleepiness that was a real problem (even Adderal and dexedrine wouldn't counter-act it) until I figured out which food to avoid.

I can't have any packaged food. I get hives and ulcers. Ouch.

I am also allergic to yeast extract, wheat and meat makes me vomit.

My son who is ASD is allergic to Sesame, poppy, tree nuts. He is also allergic to lots of medicines. Poor buy even had an allergic reaction to barium when they tried to figure out what was wrong.

Oh, and I forgot, drugs/meds: I generally am hypersensitive to drugs, but there are a few that I seem a bit insensitive to. I used to be very sensitive to caffeine, but I've become somewhat insensitive to it as I've gotten older.

I spent my life up until just a few weeks ago undiagnosed; however, my parents knew something was different when I was a kid. They took my to so many doctors, psychologists, psychiatrists, you name it. They mainly took me because of my uncontrollable meltdowns which I had very frequently. One doctor told them I had food sensitivities/allergies to mostly everything and they were supposed to remove everything from my diet with dyes, preservatives, chemicals, caffeine, etc. All I was supposed to eat was meats, fruits and veggies, and very plain grains (by that I mean, the only cereal I was allowed to have was unflavoured wheat puffs---I was two or three and I still remember them. Yuck!) Anyway, I stopped eating everything but water so my parents stopped it, though I really wish they hadn't.

I am also allergic to many drugs, but that is due to Malignant Hyperthermia--I cannot have most anesthetics. I have some sensitivities to some pills, and I cannot no matter how hard I try, stomach liquid medicine.

I believe I'm allergic to an enzyme of animal protein.

I get psoriasis when I eat animal.

And I'm being serious. I did all my own personal test.

Aspartame-based sweeteners upset my stomach, but thats about it as far as food goes. I had a panic attack when I was given metoclopramide, but I was so sick when I had it that all I could do was twitch.

I'm not surprised but glad to hear I'm not the only one. I have been to so many Dr's all telling me they had never seen anything like it before and either wanted to give my Psych meds or just say sorry we cant help you.

I just found a DR. who lists these things as a common symptom of Aspergers, especially in women. Finally.

I require a diet low in caffeine, sugar, salt, citrus, and artificial sweeteners. I'm also not good around spicy foods. I tell people it's the strong flavour that makes me hate it. I shouldn't have white bread or white rice though I do. It makes me bloat.

I'm very sensitive to medication except when experiencing pain. Then pain killers just work the same or not at all.
