I'm home for a few more weeks, and then I'm going back to this special school in Florida for young adults with autism and Asperger's. My problem is, I have a dual personality there then I do here. At home, I'm happy and fun to be around, but in Florida, I'm sullen, cranky, and not only easily frustrated but also easily frustrate people around me. My two questions are is this setting thingg common and how can I deal with my darker personality while in Florida?

What's different about the Florida environment? If you could look at those differences, maybe you could figure out why you respond differently to those two places...

I find that my Personality is unusually strong. That could be a Personality Problem in itself.

It could just be that the change of setting caused you stress. Also, some people find that their mental health is at times dependent on the weather or time of year--so some people are more prone to get grumpy when it's cold in Winter or something. Stuff like that.

I can relate, to an extent. I'm really unhappy with who I am at this point, but don't quite know how to change it.

Exactly; your not as used to the Florida place as you are your original home. Or could it be the people that you are around when you are in Florida? Do they ever make you feel uncomfortable or crowded?

Maybe it's seasonal affective disorder, sometimes simply called SAD, or something like that. Florida is very hot and muggy, and I would hate it. I like colder weather, and at least in Jersey I only have to deal with summer two months out of the year. I have dreams of moving out in the pacific northwest, though I have no idea when that would ever be. Some people find their moods to change quite dramatically when entering different climates, much like that can happen during the change of seasons.
