does anyone have any information about meltdowns creating a loss of executive functioning?

I basically had the worst meltdown of my life today. I completely blacked out, I went catatonic for 15 mins, and when I woke up, I couldnt use my hands, I could hardly walk, my speech was slurred, and so was my vision. It took about an hour to come back to normal.

Why did this happen??

Sometimes I get so stressed out I can get seizures. I can get full ones or what you described above. I can go stiff, lose speech and movement of my limbs. The short term memory loss is horrible too.

Yours is probably closer to a shutdown and a series shutdown at that.

I will assume you were under a lot of sensory or emotional stress, you tried to keep in your meltdown but it caused you worse physical symptoms. The first time it happens it can really shock you, but it is common on the autism spectrum, especially for adults.

Sounds like shutdown.
