It is Between Ourselves to be broadcast on Radio 4 on 5 April at 9 am and 9.30 pm. See http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b01000z8 .

Here is a preview of the programme in the Radio Times

Quote:
"It is life, Jim, but not as we know it." Olivia O'Leary quotes these immortal words of Mr. Spock to Captain Kirk in Star Trek to set the scene for her fascinating discussion with two men diagnosed with Asperger's syndrome, who talk frankly about the difficulties they have interacting socially with "normal" people. And yes, it can at times feel like living on another planet. Frederick Veal, now in his 40s, was diagnosed just five years ago after his son was found to have the condition. Ben Delo, though, found out at the age of 11 after tinkering with an AM radio to tune in to his parents' conversations with the psychiatrist. Both men were relieved at the news because the diagnosis gave them some understanding of how Asperger's had shaped their lives up to that point. But they still find normal people a little odd.

Oh, was of the opinion that a great many of the conversations on Radio 4 were between people with aspergers. That's why I listen. It's more interesting than regular radio.

Yes, I concour with those sentiments.

I've just listened to it. I thought it would be a conversation just between 2 aspie guys not 2 of them being interveiwed. I'm rather disappointed actually.
Wasn't a bad interview though, and I must agree with that younger man about the "keeping your eyes peeled" saying, it's just disgusting. :eew:

I listened to most of it in the car this evening and will listen again to it in full.

What I did hear was interesting indeed.
