I was wondering if you found yourself researching all their is to know on Aspergers and it itself becomes one or your only obsession?

Exactly one second before I have open wrongplanet at looking to this post, I was thinking "the time that I spent researching about AS is probably the best evidence that I should have AS".

Yes! I've been reading about Aspergers for two years now and it takes over about 75% of what I think about.

I think my obsession is me
On a more serious note I am really into figuring myself out, trying to understand why and how I am different from others, how I could help myself to become a better person and find some inner comfort. AS has a lot to do with it so yes, at this point AS is my biggest obsession.

Yes. I hope this obsession will settle down somewhat with time 'cause it takes effort and time that could be spent on other areas of life better, I suspect. But, never mind.

Same for me too. At first I didn't think I had it, or I was unsure, and then I thought about how much it dominated my thoughts, and it hit me - that is something an aspie would do. My latest obsession is definitely AS. I would care that I spend too much time on here, but I know that I would just spend it obsessing over something else anyway.

Yes, AS is one of my obsessions.

I actually have a few at the moment, but AS is pretty major.

How could one not become obsessed with a condition that one finds out applies to themselves,
describes most if not all of their life difficulties, is shared by many, and has a wealth of knowledge
available ? I mean seriously.

For some time after my diagnosis, yes, AS was an obsession. But I quickly learned all the pre-established information about it and branched out into cognitive psychology and disability rights in general. I don't hold on to obsessions very long--it's the intensity that really marks them as special interests.

Studying AS was very beneficial to me. The more you know about autism, the higher the odds that you'll be able to address the problems that pop up due to your autism and the mismatch between that and the way the rest of the world thinks.

If I really have AS and it's really an obsession, than yes, I do. My main three are in my sig, right now birds are winning out again, though mental health in general is up there too.

Yep. My obsession is actually de-stigmatizing it and making people know we're not all the same as each other, and that we're jsut as capable overall... nad many times jsut as capable at social things, or whatever else Aspies are supposed ot be bad at.
