Do you get strange comments? Is it related to AS?

All my life, I have gotten alot of unusual remarks, to the point where they're not so unusual. I'm pretty sure it's because of AS. The other day, I was minding my own business in a book store and a man came up to me and said "you have a very unusual and powerful energy about you." I simply thanked the man. What else do you say when you are accosted with such a remark? It's not the first time someone has made a comment like this, and I usually just dismiss them because I don't care for the metaphysical (is that the right word?) thing. The other comments I get are "you are the strangest person I ever met." My cousin always jokes that I'm "from the 7th dimension." Several people have also told me that I have a "gift" with animals. I used to dismiss this one as well, but I can find tangible reasons why I'm good with animals, even if the person that stated the comment can't pinpoint their reasons.

I'd just like to point out that I'm proud of these comments, especially since I sometimes feel "boring" for not being convivial. They remind me that I'm anomalous, but not defective. Before I knew about AS, I used to wonder why people would say these things; I was trying really hard to look and act like an NT but my disguise was inexplicably transparent. I just find it odd that people can sense when you have AS, even if they don't all use the same label.

Once a woman came up to me on the street and said she could tell I was a very spiritual person. I get similar things often, despite the fact that I'm possibly the least "spiritual" person I know.

One strange comment I got was that I should eat more white food to balance my aura, now if I was in a new age shop I wouldn't have been supprised (I like new age shops, pretty stones, nice smells etc) but I was in a pet shop when I got this comment.

That is really funny. I used to go to this fine arts summer camp, so everyone there was a bit off-center I guess you could say. A music composition major came up to me and told me I have an unusual aura.

One comment that I'm still trying to figure out: Someone once told me that I stood out because I had a very expressive face. That's odd, because people usually overlook me.

I was at a coffee shop one day sitting alone peacefully smoking a cigarette and sipping a coffee and a woman came up to me and asked if I was feeling sad because I had this sad and distant look in my eyes and asked "how is life treating you?" I just said "that's none of your business". Yeah, I know, I was rude, I felt bad afterwards, but she left right after this. Now I think she might have been some evangelical preacher trying to talk to me about Jesus or something (there are lots of these here in Brazil).

People I don't really know that well, or I've had my first conversation with, have said outright "you're odd" or "you're weird" and I can never be sure what it was, I often say eccentric things though, some more unusual comments have been "you're an old man in the bidy of a young man" "you're like an old grand dad" (everythings to loud to me) and "you're face is so blank"

I have had people I have known for 5 minutes say "I bet you are good at math!" (Math is actually one of my worst subjects). Once I said to someone "No, not really" and they seemed offended for some reason. :?

I have only had one person call me "odd" before. She was extremely NT though.

I got a comment from a New Age guru-person that occured right after I was trying to experiment and look at people in their eyes. It basically amounted to:

"Wow! You have such a large, intense aura. It could fill this room!"

...then she spent the next couple of minutes rambling about how strong my aura was so powerful as well as so direct and everything.

...I think I scared her. XD

I was once stopped by a sales person at the mall in 2007 or 2008 and she said because I was so natural, that' why she stopped me. She also said how she noticed I don't wear any make up so she could tell I like to be natural just like her.

Another time on the bus back when i used to work at the hotel I was going home and this was also in 2008. This one man in a wheelchair always rode the bus and I saw him on there like every Thursday. One day he asked me a question and it was something about my feet but I don't remember what word he said I might have and what he exactly said because it was hard to understand but I thought it was very strange. I couldn't remember the word so I was unable to look it up. Maybe he mistook my stimming for something else or how I keep my feet, I don't know.

Hmm...my classmates used to call me The Martian at one point in elementary school

Older men...like to stop and talk to me. Try to get my number. Ask me how old I am. Most people say that I look around 13-15. I'm 20...and usually when I tell that to the guys that are hitting on me, they either don't believe me or they leave very quickly. It's kind of...worrying.

I am one of those aura-feelers. I guess some people experience it, and others don't. Oh well. No belief necessary. It's like having an eye or nose in a dimension they don't teach you about in school. Anyhoo, I noticed that some people who are on the spectrum have very big, intense auras. It's like anxiety X10. Not everyone is like that, and its different from person to person. It's definitely something I noticed, though.

Blackcat, I am like a lightbulb for the moths that are men between the ages of 40-50, as well. It's weird. I have no idea what causes it...

I've gotten a lot of people asking if I was stoned with one person adding "it's okay if you are". It's because of my far away day-dreamy look

I'm not so sure that they sense people as having AS, as that they are conditioned through experience to expect certain responses to social and physical cues. When a person with AS doesn't respond in a way that they recognize as normative, this stands out and is observed to be 'odd'.

I've often had people ask if I was on drugs when I was not, and never ask me when I was..

Most spiritual people I've met avoided me mostly or told me I was screwed up somehow.

About half of everyone I've met has called me 'odd', 'weird' etc. I've had lots of 'you're an individual', 'you know your own mind'etc. I've had quite a few friends going into hysterics when I've said something, then calming down and saying "oh i love you daedal", still laughing a bit, sometimes when I meant to be funny but more often when I didn't! I don't think I am such an individual anymore. I've gone so quiet in the company of peers. Even with adults, I feel much more nervous than I did. When I was little I wasn't so self concious in some areas, like what I said, so I came out with random stuff all the time. This is quite nice, the new neighbours keep telling my parents how polite and friendly I am. And my parents and they are hardly speaking. Quite a change from the girl who used to make people cry...although this is quite intentional!
