I often laugh because I think of something funny and people give me weird looks. That, or I just smile even though there is nothing to smile about. Does anyone else do this?

I tend to smile because a random funny thought comes into my head and sometimes when this happens people ask in an angry voice "what are you smiling at?" I just shrug and walk away.

I do it too and you could ask AnonymousAnonymous what he thinks about it :)
We agreed that it's very difficult to stay serious when we're (or one is) not in the mood for it.
To stay serious, I mean.

I often laugh at my own thoughts. My brain is very good at amusing itself lol.

I do it all the time, my head is always full of random and amusing stuff. And then I look around and wonder why the rest of the world is being miserable for no apparent reason. :D

It's always when everybody is focused, and when I'm finding something boring. I've almost gotten over it though, cause people give me weird looks.

I too often laugh or smile to myself when I think of something funny. It can be very difficult to suppress if I'm on a bus or train where people will notice.

I've not ever noticed it in anyone else, so I had always believed that other people only laugh when they are together.

Like the posters before me, many times in the past I have laughed at inappropriate times (to others), because I thought of something funny. I also occasionally laugh at absolutely nothing, usually when talking to someone. I'll just start smiling and laughing, and I'm not even thinking of anything funny, nor did I see or hear anything funny. Then people look at me like I'm crazy.

Yeah, my 14 year old does this every once in a while. I'll ask him what's so funny, and it's usually something funny from a tv show he watched from a year or two ago. Who knows why this scene or thought suddenly and randomly jumps into his head. He tries to cover it up, but currently doesn't do a very good job at it. But it doesn't happen that often, so it's not really a problem.

Yeah I do that all the time. I usually remember something funny from ages ago or I just suddenly feel amused for no apparent reason.

I do this quite a lot and my mum asked me what are you laughing or smiling at.

I do this pretty often. Just about anything remotely funny will enter my thoughts and I'll smirk or snicker a bit.

Not laughing inappropriately is one of the things I still have to work on for my job as a supervisor at a grocery store.

One night, a woman came up to me trying to get a refund for a pack of bologna I knew she had just taken off the shelf. When I told her I wouldn't do it, she started yelling, "This is BS! This is baloney!"

I laughed her out of the store at that last comment.

I laugh at my own thoughts all the time. I laugh no matter where I am or who I'm with, because I don't care if people give me weird looks. When people ask me why I'm laughing, I find it difficult to explain the thoughts I had, because they're usually something only I would find amusing. Sort of like an "inside joke" with myself.

Oh I love to laugh and I do that very often. I always find things to amuse myself with. If I can't find anything amusing around me I remember something funny or just come up with various crazy ideas inside my own little mind. The weird looks of other people make me want to laugh even more. I find it really hard to suppress it.

I get this constantly. Usually at inappropriate times.
