Is it an Aspie/Autistic thing to hear music you hate and it drives you nuts?
I am very sensitive to music - but not in a literal sonic sense, more of an emotional/thinking sense. So much so that I use music to modulate my mood and enthrall my brain. It actually helps me focus. There's part of my brain that's always in motion, and it can drag me through the emotional muck if I don't keep it occupied. Music is something I plug it into. Every day. It makes the world much better. I keep happy, interesting, introspective music around me during the workday.
Some music I can't bear - usually pop music or some overly polished crap. The "smooth jazz" elevator music at one of my jobs was actually unbearable. It made my mood and productivity so much worse. God it was awful.
