I am now diagnosed.

Only took four months, one week, and one day to get from self-DX to official DX.

Thank you.

The primary benefit is this goes onto my SSI paperwork. Other than that, it's just validation.

This really almost made me cry...and that is TRULY rare and unusual.

Congratulations...I trust you'll find the closure you need to heal from any hurt you've endured, and the framework you need to shape your life going forward.

There is hope.

Seems to me there was a troll ... I mean post ... that recently said self dx'rs were full of s**t. Well you just rained on his parade.

A positive step for you. Hope it helps fill in the gaps for you.

A weird part for me was describing what I thought were mild examples of say, how I deal with routines and disruptions to those routines (like unannounced visitors: The answer is I don't deal with them) and have them described back to me as "extremely rigid."

Doesn't everyone just hide in the bedroom and hope the Jehovah's will stop knocking and politely go away?

Congrats, I'm glad it worked out for you. I was also self-diagnosed before I received an evaluation and an official diagnosis. And I am also trying to get SSI (I also have severe OCD, mood disorder, and mild psychosis, and have been treated for these comorbid disorders for years; the combination has caused me to lose every job I've ever had. I had to get a lawyer for my SSI case and I have a hearing soon). Best of luck.

Said poster specifically targeted me as being "full of s**t" and supposedly I was prepared to doctor hunt until I got my diagnosis, but no medical professional I've seen has doubted it for very long (my therapist did for exactly one session).

I was sure they did.

I actually do sometimes answer the door, but I tend to fail at dealing with the people on the other side. I remember my niece's best friend showed up one day and I treated him like he was a stalker because for some reason I had no idea who he was. Even though I know him. But most of the time I pretend I'm not here when the phone rings or someone knocks.

Best of luck to you as well. I still need to get my attorney, and the hearing is still a way's off.

Oh man, they were right next door today, and I needed a cigarette, so I went out there and puffed away really quick while playing Type O Negative videos on my Android and hoping they'd get scared and avoid me... I don't know if it was them or the Baptists, honestly, but either way, they stayed next door long enough for me to finish my smoke and get in and hop in the shower. Hooray for small victories LOL

Oh and Congrats to you Verdandi... I really need to find the resources to get this done myself. I honestly don't put too much time into finding out at this point though because I'm fairly well adapted to NT life.... but I know inside what I am. I'm so glad you got some closure though! I'm excited for you!
