memory?
I was wondering how common a photographic memory might be in the autistic spectrum? (also I am trying to improve my own visual memory. Any suggestions?)

Are we talking eidetic memory? Because that's not very common at all.

If, on the other hand, we're talking about simply noticing small details easily and well, then sure, plenty of us can do that. Can, in fact, not help doing it, because of how our brains just don't filter out the "irrelevant" data. It can get pretty overwhelming sometimes. Almost I'm jealous of people who don't notice so much, because they don't end up having to pull their blankets over their heads because their brains are buzzing with Too Much.

I have a photographic memory. It can be fun at times. At other times, it isn't very pleasant. I remember almost everything from my past and sometimes I wish I didn't.

Sometimes I can remember observations visually and think back and grab more details. It's not anything extraordinary though. Not even sure if this is "photographic memory". Probably wouldn't even make a cool party trick.

I do not, by any means, have eidetic memory. However, when I was in school and taking a test, I would picture the page where I remembered reading the answer. Sometimes it worked and I could see the answer, and sometimes it didn't. I see this more as thinking in pictures than as photographic memory, because those visual memories aren't crisp and clear but fuzzy.

i sometimes do. althought its more of a 'flash bulb' memory.
Certain conversations i have had i can remember where people where standing, what they were wearing and how they ahd there hair etc and its etched in my mind. i can also visualise certain information by remembering the what the page looked like rather then the info on it. or streets and stuff. doesnt happen all the time, only sometimes.
