Of course, but then, I'm probably a Savant. When I first came here I talked a lot about my talents, but I've become self-conscious about going on about it, and I think all things considered, I will refrain from repeating myself here. There are certainly people here that put me in the shade.
The problem with that is, as I see it, the purpose of this board is for Aspies to help each other, and to feel less alone in the world. I'm fine with this thread as long as we are sharing things we have in common, and not comparing to see who has the coolest Superpower. I'm not saying I've seen that so far, but I don't want to be the one to start it. I've used my talents to help me become functional and my best advice to everyone is to find a way to apply your Superpower to the real world. Not that I'm banging the drum for everyone to go out and start acting like NTs, but sometimes it's brutally necessary. It is in my case. For me now it's make my own way or starve.
I think that every Aspie has some special power, even if it's something only they know about, and we should cherish them.
You bring up a good point. I wasn't trying to brag, and I wasn't trying to encourage others to do so either. I just thought it'd be fun if everyone shared something they are "good" at. I think everyone, especially Aspies, have something that they do really well. Being proud of that skill doesn't mean that you have to be arrogant about it.
And that is also true... the "superpower" isn't necessarily useful. I haven't found a great deal of usage for my language learning apart from personal enjoyment. Maybe one day I'll find a way to put it to good use.
