Who else is horrible at quoting dialogue/song lyrics?

I always hear people around me singing a song, or maybe saying a movie quote during conversation. Maybe it's just me, but I can never pay attention long enough to absorb the lyrics to a song or the dialogue from a movie. And even if I am listening to music or watching a movie, my brain doesn't process/absorb the information enough for me to even begin to quote a movie or say any lyrics.

I wonder if I unconsciously stop paying attention when my brain tries and fails to absorb what is being heard.

For instance, it would take me like 10 listens in a row of FORCING myself to memorize a few lines of a song if I want to have even a slight chance of remembering it a few hours later. And even then, it takes all my brain power to recall it at a random time, like in school or at work. Forget about doing it mid-conversation.

I know people who remember details of TV shows or movies that they watched 20 years ago. Even if I liked them, they are long gone from my memory by then.

Songs are different for me though. Songs get imprinted in my brain forever (even if I want to forget them!)

Edit: I do quote movies or certain shows a lot, but that's because I've watched them dozens of times.

The way you say it, yes, because I don't listen to a lot of popular music or watch a lot popular movies. However, if I happen to know the movie or song, I do know what they are talking about.

One thing that I did, (which I believe was because of my autism--none of the other kids I know apparently did this) was to sit there and REPEATEDLY watch movies over and over again. I remembered every single word of them and would talk WITH the movie (not a step behind the movie) without missing a syllable. Two hour long movies. I can't recite them from scratch today unless I watch them a few times first because I don't watch those ones on a regular basis and its been awhile; however, I can still speak along WITH the movies when I do watch them. Those particularly movies had become my obsessions/special interests, so I could focus on them for hours and hours at a time. When the movie stopped, I would rewind it and play it again.
