When someone posts something we feel is inappropriate, I’d like to suggest the following.

Step 1) Ignore them. Maybe they’ll realize their error on their own.

Step 2) Politely state that you feel (“quote”) was inappropriate.

Step 3) If the problem persists, wait until you have three good examples of the problem, then post a complaint citing those examples, explaining your objections, and inviting other members to comment.

Remember that impatience is indicative of immaturity.

-Thanks for your consideration.

Yeah we are all hypersensitive and our social skills problems lead to us saying the wrong thing and I do have both problems. I think AI technology maybe something I should
look into. If AI could be pushed to the next level it would make my life easy. I say
99% of my social contact is via forums maybe I could right a computer program that
could simulate a forum user. Maybe its all a simulation anyway.

No doubt most of the time the individual is unaware that what they have posted is inappropriate (we lack normal social understands here), so I think just making them aware of the concern should be enough. But I don't think it's necessary to post it so everybody can see - I think a discreet PM is more in order instead.

We? You can't speak for everybody. Sounds like some kind of hive-mind thought. Once again, the individual may feel 'ganged-up' upon if we 'invited other members to comment', and we don't want to discourage them from freely posing their ideas and thoughts.

Maybe if we just send a complaint to Alex, then if he gets eough about that post/person he can deal with it appropriatly. That sounds good.

Yeah, that sounds reasonable. At the library the unwritten rule is if nobody complains we don't do anything about it. That's much better than somebody taking it upon themselves to lock threads because they don't like them.
