Frustrated with medications
So I started on Abilify... and then stopped five days later (thankfully I was on the lowest dose). The side effects were brutal including insomnia.
About the same time as I stopped the ENT I was seeing for a nasal problem prescribed a steroid and an anti-biotic. The steroid keeps me awake all night now.
I am starting to contemplate crimes against Big Pharma... maybe they should take these medications before selling them out to the public.
Yeah, I had bad side affects from abilify too. Sometimes bad side effects, once they happen, persist even after one stops taking the medication. It's like a chemical reaction in the body, once started, has "momentum" and keeps going for a while until it fades away or is interrupted even if the original trigger for the reaction is removed.
I sincerely believe someday the pills we are prescribed won't be as much trial and error as they are today. Once we better understand the mechanisms of how different medications work, and understand better how that varies according to an individual's unique body chemistry coded for by their DNA, medical science *should* be able to prescribe meds that do exactly what they are supposed to do for a given individual.
Ideally these could be put into our food, so for example, there could be a dozen or a hundred different varieties of a lasagna TV dinner that all taste the same, but each one would have a unique blend of nutrients tailored to different groups of body chemistries. We're not there yet, but we're getting closer all the time.
Someday too they may have insecticides that only affect the target species and not poison pets or people. They're working on that too.
