You can read the last few posts, of the thread on Gallifrey Base(Not too surprisingly, some of those are mine) to catch up on the idea behind this thread.

My stance there is the same as it has always been. I don't think Asperger's or Autism should be classified as a mental illness. Some think differently.

Please share.

I think to say it's a "mental illness" should be discouraged, and "neurological difference" should be encouraged, personally.

So because Einstein had autism does that mean he is a disease. Is Einstein known for his mental illness and insanity? Sure Einstein had his strengths and weaknesses and I do not have a problem with the acknowledgement of both. However autism is not defined by the medical establishment as this gift of genius but rather the medical establishment defines autism as a curse, as a disorder and a disease.
